Wanted man app-rehended by gardai in Kilkenny

A man with an outstanding bench warrant was caught red-handed after Kilkenny gardai detected that his car’s tax and NCT had expired well over a year ago.

The man was pulled over by members of the Unit C Kilkenny Regular Unit in the city on Friday night after the Garda mobility alerted them about the vehicle’s expired tax and NCT.

A local Garda spokesperson confirmed: “Upon further enquiries, it was discovered that there was a Bench Warrant for the driver in force. The man was arrested and is due before the courts and the vehicle seized under Section 41 of the Road Traffic Act.”
