WARNING: Burglar in red car spotted prowling outside home in Kilkenny village
A burglar was spotted casing out a home in county Kilkenny shortly before breaking into the property.
The incident occurred at a house in Stoneybridge, Piltown, sometime between 4pm and 8.10pm last Wednesday, February 19.
The homeowner was out of the time. The thief gained entry to the house after forcing open a back door.
However, the burglar was forced to flee empty handed .
A local Garda spokesperson confirmed: “It appears the culprits may have been disturbed as nothing was stolen. A red car was seen acting suspiciously in the area shortly before homeowner returned to his house.”
Gardai have urged eyewitnesses or anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area at the time to contact Mooncoin Garda Station on 051 895 122.
