Met Éireann has issued status yellow rainfall warning for Kilkenny, neighbouring Carlow and Wexford and Munster, which came into force at 12pm.

The national forecaster warned: “They state that the areas are expected to see “heavy rain at times with amounts of 25 to 40 mm and a risk of spot flooding. Rain will be heaviest from this afternoon to tonight.”

The warning will remain in place until noon tomorrow.

Wrap up well folks.
