WEATHER FORECAST: Here comes the sun! Kilkenny to bask in temperatures of up to 20C
Temperatures are set to soar to as high as 20 degrees in Kilkenny this week as the county basks in spring sunshine.
Despite yesterday’s miserable conditions, the national forecaster said big changes are on the way as we move into the week, with plenty of sunshine and high temperatures to raise mercury levels on Thursday and Friday.
There will be scattered showers this morning, but these will clear up as the day continues.
Met Éireann said: “A fresher day with sunny spells and scattered showers in all areas. The showers – heaviest in the north – will be less frequent later in the day, becoming largely dry by evening.
“Winds moderate west to southwest. Maximum temperatures 10 to 13 degrees, highest in the east.”
Tomorrow will be dry with a mix of cloud and good sunny spells, with the east again enjoying the best of the sunshine in the east and temperature highs of up to 14 degrees.
Things will start hotting up on Wednesday, which is set to be “dry with good amounts of sunshine” and highest temperatures of up to 16 degrees.
However, the best of the weather is set to arrive on Thursday and Friday, with highs of 20 degrees forecast.
Met Éireann added: “Thurday, dry and mostly sunny. Feeling warm in the sunshine, with highs of 15 to 19 or 20 degrees.”
