WEATHER FORECAST: Kilkenny braced for another washout, but better news looms on horizon

Kilkenny is braced for more heavy showers over the coming days, but the weather is set to imrpove for the better from the middle of the week.

Met Éireann warned people to expect more heavy showers and windy conditions today and tomorrow, but we can look forward to welcome dry spells and even some winter sunshine from Wednesday.

Today will be cool and blustery with widespread showers, but the south of the country will enjoy some bright spells. The national forecaster said to expect highest temperatures of between just eight to 11 degrees.

Tomorrow will also be a blustery day with a mix of scattered heavy showers and sunny spells, but the west will feel the brunt of the worst showers.

Met Éireann said: “Mostly dry with clear spells Tuesday night, showers in the north. Lows of 3 to 6 degrees in the north, 0 to 4 degrees in the south, with patchy grass frost in sheltered areas.”

Things, however, will brighten up considerably on Wednesday, which will be mostly dry and sunny spells and temperature highs of 10 or 11 degrees.

The national forecaster said Thursday and Friday will also be “dry and settled with good sunny spells and light winds”, with the mercury rising to between 10 to 12 degrees.
