WEATHER FORECAST: Fears of power cuts as more thunder and lightening forecast

IT’S looking like a wet one folks.

Forecasters are predicting plenty of showers this week as the remnants of Hurricane Humberto hit Ireland.

Although Humberto has been downgraded to a tropical storm, Kilkenny already felt the effects of it with sporadic thunder and lightning storms over the weekend.

Met Eireann said today will be very similar to the weekend with heavy showers throughout the day, with some thundery. But it will still be pretty humid, with top temperatures of between 17c or 18c.

Tomorrow will be very windy, with guests of up to 50kph at times. The rain will ease off, but there will be showers throughout the day. With slightly cooler temperatures.

Thunderstorms will return on Wednesdan and, again, it will be quite warm and humid with temperatures rising to 18c.

By Thursday Humberto should have passed, meaning the day will be much dryer, with the odd shower.

The early indications for next weekend are for more unsettled weather, with more showers forecast.
