THE weather in Kilkenny this week will be settled and sunny, and there’s very nice news for the thousands making the annual pilgrimage to the Ploughing Championship up the road in Carlow tomorrow.
Today will be mainly cloudy, but the sun will break through at times, with temperatures of between 16C and 17C.
Overall, be prepared for chilly evenings this week. Forecasters said the days will be nice and sunny, but temperatures will plummet later as the light fades. Temperatures will drop to as low as four or five degrees tonight.
There will be less clouds and more sun tomorrow, with temperatures rising to as high as 18 or 19 degrees. Overnight it will get chilly again with temperatures expected to fall to about six degrees.
Wednesday will be as good as we could expect at this time of the year. There will be clear skies all day, very little wind and little cloud. Temperatures are set to climb up into the 20s.
The forecast is also good for Thursday, with clear skies, no wind or rain forecast and the mercury rising to up to a positively balmy 22C.
Next weekend the weather could break with showers loomong on the horizon, but for now you can make the most of a welcome hazy Indian summer.
