WEATHER FORECAST: Sunny spells and scattered showers on horizon for Kilkenny

Kilkenny’s in for another week of sunny spells and showers, according to Met Éireann.

The national forecaster said today will be dry and sunny to begin with, although scattered showers will develop later in the morning, turning heavy at time, with highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees.

Met Éireann said there will be “similar temperatures for the week ahead”, with a mix of showers and dry spells tomorrow and Wednesday.

Scattered showers mixed with sunny spells are also forecast for tomorrow, with showers heavy at times in Leinster and Munster and highest temperatures of between 12 to 15 degrees.

Outbreaks of rain or drizzle are forecast for Wednesday morning, becoming largely dry during the afternoon with sunny spells in many areas and highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees “with light or moderate westerly winds”.

Met Éireann said there is “higher uncertainty than usual regarding the forecast for Thursday”, with wet and windy conditions likely in most areas during the day, adding: “Rain clearing to showers later on Thursday. Highs of 10 to 13 degrees. Showers continue Thursday night.”

Friday will remain unsettled with widespread showers and a risk of some being heavy or thundery. It will be quite breezy too, with temperatures rising to between 12 to 14 degrees.
