Woman distraught after thieves stole parts of her car after it broke down on Kilkenny motorway
Sneaky thieves stolen parts off a broken down car that was parked up on the side of a Kilkenny motorway.
The theft occured on the M9 motorway near Dunkitt just after 6pm last Thursday.
The female driver had parked the car with the intention of collecting it the following day. But when she returned to collect it at noon the next day she noticed the vehicle had been tampered with.
It later emerged the catalytic convertor had been stolen from the car.
Gardai in Kilkenny are investigating the theft.
They have urged anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area at the time to contact Mooncoin Garda Station on 051 895 122.
