Woman seriously injured in county Kilkenny crash transferred to Dublin hospital

A WOMAN who was seriously injured in a road collision in South Kilkenny over the Bank Holiday weekend is being transferred to a hospital in Dublin today to undergo surgery.
The woman, who is in her 30s, was the single occupant of a car that was involved in a collision outside Glenmore, between the Rhu Glenn and Murphy Motors, at around 7.30am on Sunday.
The emergency services rushed to the scene as a section of the N25 was temporarily closed to traffic for several hours.
The woman was initially taken to University Hospital Waterford where she was treated for her injuries. She suffered a broken pelvis and serious leg injuries in the collision, but her condition is now described as “stable”.
A local Garda spokesperson told KilkennyNow.ie the woman is due to be transferred to Tallaght University Hospital in Co Dublin today where she will undergo surgery.
