Changes to be made to Kilkenny city’s new bus service, just one month after launch
Changes are being made to the new Kilkenny City Bus service, just one month after it came into operation.
The long-awaited service has run into a few difficulties, particularly due to Kilkenny narrow medieval streets.
A council engineer has been accompanying a bus driver on both new routes to see where changes can be made.
The local authority has also advised the National Transport Authority where bus stop shelters are needed along the new routes.
In an interview on KCLR, Kilkenny Council County Senior Engineer Ian Gardner said the local authority is looking to change the kerbing on some difficult bends on the routes to give the buses more space to manoeuvre.
He also revealed a new app which will alert passengers to real-time stops along the routes will be development.
