Kilkenny soccer star knocks in opener and pushes club into top five

SCORING the opening goal for Preston North End, Kilkenny’s football star Seanie Maguire paved the way for Preston North End’s fourth win of the season.
Preston held on to win 2-0 at home against Brentford and pushed the club into the top five in the English Championship.
Maguire started out on the left of a front three but took only four minutes to find the back of the net, his second goal of the season.
Maguire missed the last two Ireland internationals through a freak injury picked up while training with Preston, but he was fit enough to play today and wasted no time in getting on the scoresheet.
Preston wrapped up the three points thanks to an 80th minute goal by Tom Barkhuizen.
With just seven games played in the Championship, Preston sit fifth on 13 points, just three points behind leaders Swansea.
