SPONSORED: ‘Unforgettable’ – experience the enchanting magic of Christmas at Castlecomer Discovery Park

SOMETHING magical is taking place at Castlecomer Discovery Park. The award-winning county Kilkenny adventure and activity centre is being transformed into a virtual Winter Wonderland as the countdown to Christmas gets underway.

Children and families can look forward to one of the most enchanting experiences on the festive calendar as the renowned Castlecomer venue unveils its Magical Christmas Experience.

A very special red-dressed guest and his team of hard-working elves have been busy putting together the backdrop for what promises to be one of Ireland’s most authentic family Christmas events.

Jump aboard the Santa Express at the specially constructed North Pole Station; experience the magic of the twinkling light displays emerging from the woodlands; or sit back with a steamy mug of delicious hot chocolate as the kids explore the Elf and Fairy Village.

Huge numbers of families from all corners of the country descended on Castlecomer last year to experience the wonderful light displays and all the festive charms the Discovery Park has to offer. And this year promises to be even bigger and better.

“Christmas is one of our favourite times at the park, as we transform the park into a magical Christmas wonderland,” says Kathy Purcell of the Castlecomer Discovery Park.

“We see so many families creating traditions at the park, visiting every year and making memories. This year we will have our light displays once more and a whole host of exciting festive activities that make this a truly authentic and unforgettable Christmas experience.”

Just a 90-minute drive south of Dublin, the team at Castlecomer Discovery Park is renowned for their dedication to creating a world festooned with seasonal cheer. Hundreds of decorative lights glistening through the woodland helps to create a unique festive atmosphere and magical memories that will last a lifetime.

The adventure kicks-off at the North Pole Station, where the Santa Express will take you through the enchanted woodlands and onto the Christmas Village. Once here, you will have time to explore, make a Christmas tree decoration in the beautiful arts and crafts area or just sit back and soak up the atmosphere in with a warming mug of hot chocolate in the relaxed surroundings of the Canopy Café.

There are endless activities to keep the kids happy. The Elf and Fairy village (pictured above) boast imaginative playgrounds featuring bouncing nets and a Junior Woodland Adventure Course.

The igloos are cosy and warm and full of festive spirit – and magical Christmas secrets! Here, the kids will get to meet Mrs Claus, and hear entertaining tall tales of mischievous elves and life in the North Pole.

Last, but not least, there’s the Great Man himself. Santa Claus, fresh from his busy Christmas preparations, will be on hand to meet and greet every child, who will get to whisper their wish list into his ear – and receive a special memorable gift!

The Magical Christmas Experience lasts approximately 90 minutes, at a relaxed and highly enjoyable pace, allowing you and all the family to soak up every ounce of festive magic from start to finish. Families are also welcome to return to the Elf and Fairy Village to spend more time at play.
