Kilkenny All-Star hurler seeks to expand fitness business

One of Kilkenny’s most popular gyms – TJ Reid Health & Fitness  – is looking to expand its premises.

The gym, co-owned by Kilkenny All-Star TJ Reid, has lodged a planning application to increase the size of its fitness centre at Cillin Hill, Leggetsrath by 230 sq/m.

The proposed makeover will require a change of use of from the store currently used by Connolly’s Red Mills.

William Connolly and Sons Co has lodged a planning application with Kilkenny County Council looking for material change of use from mezzanine store to a gym/leisure centre consisting of use of 92 sq/m at first floor level. It also wants to increase the floor area of the current gym on the first floor level by 138 sq/m.

A decision on the planning application is due next month.
