Shocked Kilkenny homeowner returns from weekend away to find home ransacked

A homeowner in Kilkenny city was shocked to discover their house was broken into and ransacked while they were away for the weekend.

Burglars gained entry to the house at Fairview on the Castlecomer Road sometime between 11am last Friday and 12pm on Monday.

On returning home, the owner of the property discovered the rooms of the house had been searched and ransacked, but it appears nothing was taken from the house.

Gardai are investigating the break in. They are appealing for eyewitnesses or anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area over the weekend to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5000.
