WATCH: Gardai release shocking video of bales of hay falling off back of speeding truck on Kilkenny border

Garda have released footage of giant bales of hay falling off the back of a truck that was travelling at speed on the Kilkenny-Tipperary border over the weekend.

The video shows the bales of hay, which were fastened by just a single lengthway strap, becoming loose before tumbling on to the road.

Fortunately, there was no oncoming traffic when the bales become dislodged and nobody appears to have been injured.

Gardai have urged farmers and truck drivers to ensure all loads are properly secured before they take to the roads.

A local Garda spokesperson said: “This incident occurred in North Kilkenny/Tipperary border area on Saturday evening. This is a busy period for farms and other businesses, please ensure all loads are properly secured.”
