Kilkenny school unveils plans for new extension to house special needs classrooms
A county Kilkenny primary school has applied for permission to expand its facilities to create extra space for its students and for special learning.
The Board of Management of St Beacon’s National School in Mullinavat has sought permission from the local authority to build an extension onto the existing school building.
The proposed construction invovles the construction of a new building comprising two special education needs rooms, a link corridor to the existing school building and “all associated services and site works”.
The mixed-gender school currently caters for around 185 students. It has seven classrooms, a general purpose room and a resource room
A decision on the application is expected by the start of November.
