Brave Kilkenny woman frightens off burglar who broke into her home

A BRAVE county Kilkenny woman frightened off a burglar who broke into her home while she was away.

The attempted burglary occurred in Lios Na Sí near Johnstown yesterday morning.

Kilkenny gardai confirmed the woman returned to her house at around 10am to discover an intruder had gained entry to her home.

She shouted at the burglar, who immediately fled the property and ran off down the road.

Investigating gardai suspect the intruder got into a car parked nearby before making off.

They have urged any member of the public who may have seen a suspicious vehicle in the area or a man running “in a frenzied state” around the time of the incident to contact the Garda Station in Urlingford on 056 883 1133.
