LATEST: 345 new cases of virus confirmed as hospitalisations rise again

A further 345 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening while the number of patients being treated for the virus in hospitals across the country increased again.

The Department of Health confirmed 127 people are being treated for the virus in hospitals, an increase of 11 on yesterday’s figures.

A total of 44 people are now being treated in Intensive Care Units, up one from yesterday.

However, the department warned the number of cases may change due to future data validation amid the disruption caused by the cyber attack on the HSE’s system.
