A further six pass away as HSE says CervicalCheck backlog will be cleared by October

A further six people lost their lives from Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland in the last 24 hours, the HSE said this evening.
The total death toll here is now 1,726 while the number of confirmed cases has now reached 25,396 after another five were diagnosed.
Meanwhile, the HSE expects to clear the backlog of suspended CervicalCheck screening tests by October, Dr Colm Henry, Chief Clinical Officer, has said.
CervicalCheck screening was suspended on March 27 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
