Banned driver busted after trying to turn away from Garda checkpoint in Kilkenny
Two disqualified drivers were arrested after they were stopped at separate Garda checkpoints in county Kilkenny.
In the first incident, the disqualified motorist was caught red-handed by gardai conducting speed checks on the M9 at Paulstown who was clocked driving at excessive speed.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed: “With use of Garda mobility device, it was established that the driver was disqualified.” The vehicle was seized and the driver was arrested and charged.
Meanwhile, another banned driver was arrested after they they tried to turn away from a checkpoint in Callan.
This car was also seized and the motorist was arrested and charged to appear before Kilkenny District Court.
