Lucky escape for woman whose car was stoned by teens on Kilkenny road
A traumatised woman who had a lucky escape after the car she was driving was pelted with stones by a group of youths hiding out on a Kilkenny construction site.
The woman was driving her Kia Sportage along the Callan Road in Kilkenny at 6.25pm on Sunday, March 8 when her car was targeted, causing extensive damage.
The youths, all said to be in their early teens has trespassed onto the construction site of the new Inner Relief Road close to College Park and Wetlands, and waited there to pounce on an unsuspecting driver.
Unfortunately for the woman, it was her. As she drove passed, the youths – all wearing hoodies zipped-up, unleashed a barrage of stones towards her car causing extensive damage to the driver’s door.
The teens all fled the scene and the distressed woman, contacted the gardai. She was uninjured in the attack
