Bring a brolly if you’re venturing out today – Kilkenny’s in for a wet one!
DON’T forget your umbrella if you’re venturing out this afternoon – Met Éireann has forecast heavy showers for Kilkenny and the rest Leinster as temperatures drop to unseasonably low levels.
Any hopes that summer had arrived were washed away in the rain yesterday as the mercury levels dropped throughout the country.
And despite a bright start to the morning, the national forecasting is predicting more of the same this evening.
The national forecaster said this morning: “Cloudy today with showery outbreaks of rain continuing to affect the province during the morning and early afternoon. Top temperatures 9 to 13 degrees, highest across the south of the province.”
Tonight will be mostly dry as showers die out from the day and temperatures will dip to zero as grass frost settles in.
More wind is in store for Friday, as well as grass frost, while Saturday will bring scattered showers, but also some sunny spells and temperature highs of up to 10C and 13C.
