Burglars break-into Kilkenny pub and strip premises of all its wiring
The owner of a Kilkenny bar that had closed down was shocked to find that someone had broken into the premises and stripped it bare of all its wiring.
The former bar on the Castlecomer Road in Kilkenny was broken into sometime between Wednesday, November 20 and Wednesday, November 27. It was only when the owner went to check on the premises that they discovered the building had been done over.
The burglars managed to get inside the building by forcing open a window at the rear of the premises and climbing through. Once inside, the burglars set about stripping the building of its copper wiring, causing extensive damage to the property.
Gardai are investigating the theft. They have urged potential eyewitnesses or anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area at the time to Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5000.
