Kilkenny camogie heroes take to streets for fundraiser week before All-Ireland

By COLIN BARTLEY

CHRISTMAS may be 117 days away, but the one Kilkenny team hopes all their Christmases will come at once this week.

Our senior camogie team is just nine days away from the All-Ireland final, and they are urging the people to get behind the Kilkenny All-Ireland Camogie effort.

This weekend the girls will be out on the streets of Kilkenny shaking buckets to raise funds in a flag day, while tonight they will be bringing some Christmas cheer to the city, to raise money for the Kilkenny Camogie All-Ireland Fund.

The ‘Belles and Balls Ho-Ho-Ho Christmas Party’ returns for the second year after last year’s success. The winter wonderland kicks off from 8pm in Matt the Millers this evening.

Next Wednesday the Camogie team hosts a radio quiz with venues all around the county.

Kilkenny will be looking to regain the trophy last won in 2016. They have been beaten by Cork in the last two finals.

The Kilkenny girls face Galway for the O’Duffy Cup on Sunday week at Croke Park. Throw in is at 4.15pm.
