Car erupts in flames at Kilkenny beauty spot, major haul of drugs seized in city
Gardai and the Fire Service were called to deal with a burnet our car in the heart of a popular local woodland.
As our pictures show, members of the local Fire Service had to extinguish the smouldering vehicle, which was set on fire at Ballyrafton Wood on Thursday.
Meanwhile, gardai in Kilkenny also uncovered a “significant” haul of cannabis from a vacant property in the city.
A local Garda spokesperson confirmed: “Gardaí from Unit C had a busy and varied day with amongst other calls, a burned out car in Ballyrafton Wood, a significant cannabis haul from a vacant property in the city, theft calls as well as doing the day to day passports, form stamping and other tasks associated with the uniform.”
The spokesperson added: “It’s a great job if you like varied and we benefit not only from the likes of the Fire Service who support us regularly but also you who give us superb assistance.”
