Supermacs gives ‘slice’ of profits to Kilkenny homeless charity

By COLIN BARTLEY

A POPULAR fast food restaurant in Kilkenny is asking you to “pop on in for a quick bite to eat” this weekend – and a slice of your money will go to helping the homeless.

For this weekend only, Supermac’s on Kilkenny’s High Street are selling a pizza slice and a drink for just €3. And for every meal purchased, the popular Irish food outlet will give €1 to Kilkenny Helping the Homeless.

Kilkenny’s Helping the Homeless is a group of five concerned citizens, who travel to Dublin every two weeks to provide hot food and clothes to people living on the streets.

For the past three years, the group consisting of Mary Pierce, Brendan Pierce, Evelyn Hourigan, Linda Comeford and Larry Coady prepare all the food they provide in Kilkenny, then bring it to Dublin to feed those in need.
