Gardai bust man with €12,000 of heroin and €6,000 cash on Kilkenny border
Gardai busted a known heroin dealer close to county Kilkenny following a successful surveillance operation which caught him red-handed with close to €12,000 worth of heroin and more than €6,000 in cash.
The Waterford Divisional Drugs Unit were in the Poleberry area of Waterford City shortly after 2pm yesterday afternoon as part of their surveillance led operation when the 28-year-old suspect was located, stopped and searched.
The man was found to have 23 deals of heroin in his possession with a value of €1120. He was arrested at 14.20 pm under section 15 Misuse of Drugs Act 1977/16.
In a follow-up search of the man’s address, gardai found 76 grammes of heroin, with a street value of €10,640 in a false partition in a press. The gardai conducting the search also found A quantity of cash to the value of €6,125 was also found. The drugs and money have been seized.
The man is been detained at Waterford Garda Station under section 4 Criminal Justice Act 1984.
