Drinking al fresco – Kilkenny bar named best outdoor space in whole region

A POPULAR Kilkenny bar that put a huge amount of work into creating a beer garden to remember has been given the recognition it deserves.
Christy’s Bar on Upper Patrick’s Street has just been named as the Best Outdoor Space in the South East by organisers of the Irish Pub Awards.
The bar in the ‘Village’ becomes the fourth venue from Kilkenny to represent the South East at the Irish Pub Awards.
Matt the Millers won the Best Music Bar, Malzards Bar in Stoneyford won the region’s Best Tourist Pub, while Paris Texas won the Most Innovative Bar in the South East.
According to organisers, Christy’s Bar “developed an exceptional outdoor space that provides an enhanced customer experience”.
The winners of the national awards will be announced at a gala night in Dublin in November.
