WATCH: Inspirational Young Kilkenny man diagnosed with autism stuns audience

AN ASPIRING Kilkenny opera singer, diagnosed with autism, stunned an audience this weekend with his rendition of a song made globally famous by Pavarotti.

Daniel Docherty received a standing ovation after wowing the crowd, not just with his rousing rendition of Nessun Dorma last Sunday, but also with his speech that preceded his song.

Daniel delivered a truly inspirational speech to the audience at the 2019 Cork Autism Conference saying his autism was not going to be a burden to him.

The 19-year-old was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome back in March 2014 and is using his unbelievable voice and talent to raise awareness of autism.

Daniel is currently in is second year studying Psychology at Waterford Institute of Technology, which he chose due to his diagnosis with autism.

Earlier this year he took part in the international event, Autism’s Got Talent 2019, in London’s Mermaid Theatre and brought the house down with his version of ‘Bring Him Home’ from Les Miserable.
