Kilkenny dancing star John Nolan and partner Mairéad second favourites to lift Glitter Ball
KILKENNY’S John Nolan and his celebrity partner Mairéad Ronan are the bookies’ second favourites to take home the coveted Glitter Ball on this Sunday’s Dancing with the Stars grand finale.
Paddy Power bookmakers are offering 2/1 odds of the popular couple winning the hit RTÉ series.
This is just behind the Love/Hate actor Johnny Ward and his professional partner Emily Barker, who have been installed as 8/13 favourites.
And it puts them ahead of country singer Cliona Hagan and her partner Robert Rowinski, who have been given odds of 7/2 to win the series.
Last Sunday’s stunning performance earned John and Mairéad 54 out of 60 points from the judges. It’s a highly impressive achievement for Mairéad, who is the only remaining contestant who have never danced on stage prior to the series.
And her Kilkenny dancing partner – who also reached the final of last year’s show – is confident they can go all the way on Sunday if they continue to receive the same level of support from the public.
John told KilkennyNow.ie today: “It’s an amazing feeling to be in the final again and yes, I honestly believe we can go all the way and win it.
“Mairéad has been amazing over the past few weeks and her progress has been incredible. But we’re not taking anything for granted. Whoever emerges the winner on Sunday will be 100% down to the public, so we’re going to need all the votes we can get and another big performance to pull it off.”
