Teenage girls injured in serious road crash rushed to St Luke’s and Midlands hospitals

FIVE people were rushed to St Luke’s and the Midlands Regional hospitals after a serious road crash.

The single vehicle collision occurred at around 11.50am in Ballinabranagh, Co Carlow.

The five were injured, two seriously, in the crash which involved only one vehicle. A man in his 20s and four teenage girls were taken to St Luke’s General Hospital in Kilkenny and the Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise.

A technical and forensic examination has been conducted.

Gardaí are appealing to witnesses who travelled on the Ballinabranagh Road between 11.40am and 12.15pm to contact Carlow Garda Station on (059) 9136620 , the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda station.
