Carlow-Kilkenny election candidate’s posters pop up in wrong constituency
A Carlow-Kilkenny General Election candidate may have to examine the constituency boundaries after it emerged some of their election posters and a large sign were erected in a different voting area.
Residents of the small Wicklow village of Ballyconnell were a bit confused when posters of Fianna Fáil Senator Jennifer Murnane O’Connell popped up in the village over the weekend.
Ballyconnell is less than a kilometre from the north-east border of Carlow and roughly 10 kilometres from Tullow.
There are small areas of Wicklow in the Carlow/ Kilkenny constituency, however Ballyconnell is not one.
KilkennyNow.ie contacted Senator Murnane O’Connell for comment, but no response has yet been forthcoming.
It is understood the posters and signs have been taken down and moved to the correct areas in Wicklow.
