Kilkenny motorists warned to expect delays as more road works get underway

KILKENNY motorists have been warned to expect further delays as more road works gets underway in the South of the county.

Kilkenny County Council has confirmed works have begun at the N25 Waterford to New Ross road at Glenmore Hill and will continue until Friday, April 26.

The council said: “To facilitate these works, traffic management including closure of the climbing lane will be in operation and motorists are advised that delays are to be expected.”

Meanwhile, motorists in the city are continuing to face delays along the Castlecomer Road between the junction on Ballybought Street to the MacDonagh Junction Roundabout.

A ‘Stop & Go’ traffic management system will remain in operation every weekday morning from 9.30am to 4.30pm until Friday, March 22.

The works are being carried out by ESB Networks to facilitate the installation of 300 metres of new cables under the route.
