WATCH: Kilkenny soccer star shows team-mates how a real game (hurling) is played!
By COLIN BARTLEY
KILKENNY’S Ireland soccer international was banging in the goals, as he brought some home comforts over to his club in England.
Seanie Maguire’s teammates looked on amazement as he knocked in points and goals with a sliothar as Preston North End players tried their hand at hurling for their pre-season training.
Some of the squad appeared anything but comfortable as they were introduced to a sliothar and a hurl for the first time.
The team-bonding exercise was captured on Preston North-End’s social media channel.
Some of the Maguire’s teammates seemed to pick up the ancient art pretty quickly, while others looked like they still didn’t know one end of a hurl from the other by the end of the session.
The players took part in a few training drills before squaring up against each other in an actual match.
By the reactions of Seanie’s teammates, they all enjoyed it – despite Seanie Maguire appearing to be the only person to score.
