KILKENNY WEATHER: Sunshine after rainy days

The very unsettled weather we’ve endured in Kilkenny and throughout the rest of the country recently is set to continue into the early part of this week, Met Éireann has warned.

But there may be some good news in store for next weekend, with a number of forecasters indicating there may be some very welcome sunshine may be on the horizon.

This part of the country will be mostly dry today, escaping the isolated showers forecast for the North and West, with highest temperatures of between 15 to 18 degrees.

The outlook is rather gloomier for tomorrow, which will be generally cloudy with outbreaks of rain becoming widespread by the afternoon and lowest temperatures of between seven to 12 degrees.

Ulster, Connacht and north Leinster will enjoy some sunny spells on Wednesday, but it will be cloudier further south with outbreaks of rain and the mercury rising to between 16 to 18 degrees. Rain will continue in southern counties overnight.

Some online forecasters are predicting an upturn in conditions by the end of the week, with the possibility of sunshine and warmer weather.

However, Met Éireann said the outlook for the rest of the week is still unclear, adding: “There is significant uncertainty in the further outlook at this stage, but the overall pattern appears to maintain a changeable Atlantic regime.”
