LATEST: Kilkenny among 1,372 new cases of virus as seven further deaths confirmed
A further seven people have died after contracting the coronavirus as 1,372 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed.
It brings the overall death toll as a result of the virus to 2,977. There have now been 188,923 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).
The breakdown of the latest cases is as follows: 502 in Dublin, 164 in Cork, 75 in Waterford, 77 in Wexford, 66 in Louth, and the remaining 488 cases are spread across all other counties, including 14 further infections in Kilkenny.
