LATEST: No Kilkenny infections among 443 new cases of virus as nine further deaths confirmed

A further nine people have died after contracting the coronavirus as 443 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening.

The overall death toll as a result of the virus has now reached 4,727. There have now been 238,907 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).

The breakdown of the latest cases is as follows: 208 are in Dublin, 32 in Cork, 24 in Kildare, 20 in Meath, 17 in Donegal with the remaining 142 spread across 19 other counties. No cases were recorded in Kilkenny over the past 24 hours.

As of April 3, 932,324 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland. So far, 660,800 people have received their first dose, while 271,524 people have received their second dose.
