LATEST: Over 11,000 new cases of virus but hospital numbers fall to lowest level this year
A futher 11,036 people have contracted Covid-19.
The Department of Health this evening confirmed it has been notified of a further 5,649 PCR-confirmed cases of Covid-19, as well as 5,387 positive antigen tests logged through the HSE portal.
The number of patients in hospital with Covid-19 has reduced by 32 to 595 today, the lowest hospital figure since late December.
As of this morning there were 63 people being treated for the virus in intensive care.
