Legendary Kilkenny hurler passes away

A TWO-Time Kilkenny All-Ireland winner and legendry club hurler has sadly passed away.
Sean Clohosey (87), from Tullaroan passed away peacefully over the yesterday in Cork University Hospital. Mr Clohessy had been living in Midleton, Cork, where he was married with five children.
Clohosey won two All Ireland senior medals with Kilkenny, both against Waterford in 1957 and 1953 and was played on the Tullaroan team that won the Kilkenny senior hurling county championship in 1958. Clohosey was vital in bringing the two titles back to Kilkenny during a barren period for the Cats, after winning just two Liam MacCarthy’s in 22 years.
Sean Clohosey will be reposing in T. Wallis and Sons Funeral Home, Riverside Way, Midleton. Co. Cork on Monday this evening from 5pm followed by removal at 7pm to The Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Midleton. Requiem Mass tomorrow morning 12.30pm in The Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Midleton, with burial afterwards.
