Local developer gets green light to finally complete ‘Celtic Tiger’ estate in Kilkenny

Plans to complete a housing development which was partially built during the Celtic Tiger construction boom of the 2000’s have been approved by Kilkenny County Council

Treacy Construction Company Limited has been given permission to build seven new family homes at the Ardilea Estate at Lower Newpark on Lovers Lane in Kilkenny city.

Director, Brendan Treacy, lives in the Ardilea area and expressed his wish to see the development, which had lain idle for more than a decade, completed and had gathered the support of the local residents.

Treacy Construction obtained the disused site from the appointed liquidator and pressed ahead with plans to complete the housing development.

There are 30 residential units in the development, built out as 15 ground floor apartments, with 15 duplexs above.

The seven new homes will be large family homes built over three-storey and consisting of five-bedroom homes. Each house will have a floor size of over 240 mts sq.

The new houses will be served by the existing road network to the Ardilea Estate.
