Man (67) jailed for sexually assaulting boys in Kilkenny pleads guilty to new charges
A FORMER scout leader jailed in 2015 for indecently assaulting boys in Kilkenny has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing three more boys.
David O’Brien (67), received a four-and-a-half jail sentence in 2015 when he pleaded guilty to 10 counts of indecently assaulting six boys in Kilkenny, Dublin and Cork in the late 1970s.
Yesterday Mr O’Brien, with an address at Benburb Street, Dublin 7, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to indecently assaulting three other boys on seven occasions, again in the late 1970s.
These assaults occurred at Larch Hill, Co Dublin, Powerscourt and Roundwood, Co Wicklow, and at other unknown locations between 1973 and 1978.
All three victims were under the age of 15 at the time.
Mr O’Brien is currently in custody serving the four and a half year sentence for indecently assaulting six boys, including at locations including Kilkenny, between 1975 and 1980.
