LATEST: New Kilkenny City Bus Service veered off course by ownership row

Commuters hoping to use the new Kilkenny Bus Service to get them to work may have to wait until next week to avail of the service after a landownership issue has curtailed its operations.

On just the second morning of the Kilkenny City Bus service, passengers hoping to get on at the Purcellsinch stop were mystified when no bus arrived, and others hoping to get to work in the IDA business park were informed they would have to get off at the Leggetsrath stop.

It has since emerged there is a small landownership issue regarding the Purcellsinch stop and until it is resolved, the buses cannot pick up or let down any passengers.

A spokesperson for the TFi told KilkennyNow.ie: “There has been a last-minute unforeseen hitch with the landownership of the Purcellsinch stop on the KK2 route.

“We are optimistic we will have this resolved in a couple of days and the service will resume to that stop over the weekend.”
