One person dies as more than 500,000 download new tracing app

One person lost their lives from Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland in the last 24 hours, the HSE said this evening.
The total death toll here is now 1,742 while the number of confirmed cases has now reached 25,538 after another 24 were diagnosed.
Meanwhile, more than 500,000 people have downloaded the new Covid-19 tracker app since it was launched this morning by Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly.
The app will help identify close contacts of people who test positive for the disease and was developed by Waterford-based company NearForm.
