Punters back Kilkenny legend to add Glitterball to All-Ireland medal collection
Hurling legend Aidan Fogarty’s energetic performance on the opening episode of this year’s Dancing With The Stars has seen the odds of him taking home the coveted Glitterball improved considerably.
The five-times All-Ireland winner and his dance partner Emily Barker scored an impressive 18 points – the second highest on the night – after they pulled off a fast-moving and energetic jive.
Punters also appear keen to back the Kilkenny man, so much so that Boylesports have trimmed his odds of winning the popular RTÉ show from 14/1 to 9/1.
Ryan Andrews stole the show with his impressive debut, as the Fair City actor’s Cha Cha with pro Giulia Dotta proved a huge hit with the judges, scoring 21 points.
Ryan is now the 7/4 favourite from 2/1 with Fr Ray Kelly failing to impress with his Foxtrot to the tune of ‘Spirit In The Sky’ and he has been eased out to 66/1 from 33/1.
BoyleSports spokesperson Sarah Kinsella said: “The opening show of Dancing With The Stars was great with notable performances from Aidan Fogarty, Brian Dowling and Ryan Andrews. Kilkenny hurler Aidan is now 9/1 from 14/1 while Ryan is the 7/4 favourite from 2/1. The loveable Brian Dowling has drifted out to 11/2 from 4/1, but could improve as the weeks go on and as this show has proved in the past, it’s the dark horses you need to watch out for.”
