A Kilkenny nursing home is among the first in Ireland whose residents will be vaccinated from Covid-19.
Residents at Tinnypark Residential Care on the Callan Road in Kilkenny city are among the first 23 care homes selected to receive the jab, according to a list released by the Health Service Executive (HSE)
The vaccinations administered at Tinnypark will be among 35,000 Pfizers BioNtech jabs that will be given to care home residents across the country by the end of this week.
Residents in the Maypark Nursing Home in Waterford City received their first jab on Tuesday evening, while two nursing homes in neighbouring Tipperary are also among the 23 care facilities selected to receive vaccinations this week.
The HSE has confirmed they will return to all 23 care facilities in three weeks’ time to administer the second jab, while all the residents in care homes in Kilkenny are scheduled to receive their first dose of the vaccine before the end of the month.
