Alice COADY (née Hartley)
Mile Post, Slieverue, Kilkenny/Ferrybank, Waterford

Alice Coady (nee Hartley), Mile Post, Slieverue, Co. Kilkenny, who died on Sunday, 10th January 2021, peacefully, at home. Predeceased by her husband James (Jim). Alice will be sadly missed by her loving sister Breda (Doyle), sister-in-law Peggy, niece Keira, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Alice’s removal will take place from Power’s Funeral Home, Ferrybank on Tuesday, 12th January, passing her home on route to the Church of the Assumption, Slieverue, arriving for Requiem Mass at 12 noon, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Peacefully in St. Luke’s Hospital. Mother of the late John and sister of the late Eddie and Billy. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Jim, daughter Anna, brothers Patrick, Fr. Michael P.P. Castlecomer, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends.

Removal from Kennedy’s Funeral Home, Freshford, on Tuesday evening at 7 o’clock to St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyragget. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11 o’clock (max. 10 people in church) followed by burial in St. Finnan’s Cemetery.

Charlie Meagher, Ballybeg Square, Ballybeg, Waterford, and late of Ballycuddihy, Co. Kilkenny, who died on Monday, 11th January 2021, peacefully at University Hospital Waterford. Predeceased by his wife Bridget (Biddy nee Roche) and brother Michael. Charlie will be sadly missed by his partner Mag, sons Paul and Alan, daughters Martina and Christine, sons-in-law Donal and Staffy, daughters-in-law Serena and Caroline, grandchildren Chloe, Ben, Sam, Eve, Harry, Dylan and Tommy, brother John, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Charlie’s removal will take place from his home on Wednesday, 13th January, to the St. Savior’s Church, Ballybeg, arriving for Requiem Mass at 12.30 followed by burial in St. Otteran’s Cemetery.

Nolan, Ray (Bohergloss, Freshford, Co. Kilkenny) 9th January 2021, suddenly, at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, Dublin, in the exceptional care of Prof. Paddy Mallon and his team. Son of the late Jack Nolan and son-in-law of the late Tommy and Chrissie Hickey, to the inexpressible grief of his loving wife and best friend Mary, his devoted son Mark, his much loved daughter-in-law Carol, his most cherished and precious grandchildren Caoimhe and Cillian, his mother Mai, brothers Peter, Brian and John, sisters Marie and Ann, sisters-in-law Alice, Phil, Bernie, Fionnuala, Mary and Ber, brothers-in-law Sean and Thomas, nephews and nieces, his many loyal friends, neighbours and customers.

In accordance with current Government/H.S.E. guidelines and in the interest of public health and the safety of our most vulnerable, a private family funeral will take place for Ray, with Requiem Mass celebrated on Friday, 15th January, at 11am in St. Lachtain’s Church, Freshford (max of 10 in church). Funeral afterwards to St. Lachtain’s Cemetery, Freshford.

There will be an opportunity for the community to remember Ray and support his family by being present, socially distanced, on Friday morning en route from Ray’s home to the church. Those wishing to leave a message of condolence for Ray’s family can do so here.

Ray’s family would like to thank everybody for their support and understanding in these difficult days and a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.

‘Millgrove’, Spa Road, Clonmel, Tipperary/Kilkenny

The death has occurred of Ann Power, “Millgrove”, Spa Road, Clonmel, Co Tipperary and formerly Newmarket, Co Kilkenny.

Ann passed away, peacefully, on Sunday evening, surrounded by her loving family. Pre-deceased by her husband Billy, she will be sadly missed by her daughters Olive, Bernadette, Michelle and Anne, grandchildren Trinity, Eoin, Billy and Ian, sons-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephew, niece, extended family and friends.

A private Funeral Mass will be held in St John the Baptist Church, Powerstown, on Thursday at 11.00am. Those who cannot attend can watch live via the Powerstown Parish Website www.powerstownchurch.com. Burial will take place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Bridget (Biddy) WHELAN (née Bolger)
High Street, Graiguenamanagh

Died 11th January 2021, peacefully, at Waterford University Hospital. Predeceased by her loving husband Pat, son Tommy and granddaughter Elizabeth. Deeply regretted by her loving children daughters Ellen, Margaret, Mary and Ann, sons Liam, Johnny and Pat, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Biddy will be laid to rest on Wednesday (January 13th) in The Calvary Cemetery, Graignamanagh, following a graveside service at 11am.

The funeral cortège will pass Biddy’s home at 10.45am approx. for those wishing to stand outside their homes. In keeping with recent government guidelines and by the family’s request, there will be no walking from Biddy’s home to the cemetery, to protect everyone at this difficult time.

The death has taken place of Lily Whitty née Holohan Milltown, Borris P.O., Co. Kilkenny.
