REST IN PEACE: Kilkenny Death Notices

Mr. Andrew (Billie) Carroll, MI St. Camillus, Killucan, Co. Westmeath and formerly of Bennettsbridge, Kilkenny, died 3rd June 2021, peacefully, in the excellent loving care of the staff at St. Camillus Nursing Centre Killucan and Mullingar General Hospital, in his 90th year. He has gone to join his parents, brothers and sisters all of whom preceded him into God’s presence. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, relatives and friends, and his Camillian religious confreres.

In accordance with Government and HSE guidelines, a private reception service will take place on Saturday evening (5th June) at 6.00pm, and a private Mass will take place in the Nursing Centre Chapel, Killucan, on Sunday (6th June) at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining community cemetery.

In her 48th year. Pre-deceased by her father Martin. Valerie will be sadly missed by her daughter Clodagh, husband Eugene, mother Julie, brother Jonathan, sister Nicola, nieces and nephews; Abbie, Cory, Aaron and Ryan, aunts and uncles, sisters and brothers-in-law, extended family and many friends.

who died on Friday 4th June 2021.

Peacefully, at University Hospital Waterford, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his wife Mary (née Mallon), parents Michael and Eileen, brothers James and Jeremiah. Mick will be sadly missed by his sons Ciarán, Michael and Colm, daughters-in-law Yvonne, Deirdre and Bríd, grandchildren Conaill, Eoghan, Michael, James, Saoirse, Áine, Fearghal and Dáire, brotherJohn, sister Marie (Corcoran), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, family, neighbours and friends.

Mick will be reposing in Power’s Funeral Home, Ferrybank, on Sunday 6th June from 6pm until 8pm. Mick’s removal will take place on Monday 7th June to St. James’ Church, Glenmore, (via his home) arriving for Requiem Mass at 12 noon followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

No flowers, please, donations, if desired, to Crumlin Children’s Hospital, c/o Power’s Funeral Directors, Ferrybank.

Maher (Haughney Green, Kilkenny and formerly of Clonmoran Cross) 4th June 2021, peacefully, at St. Luke’s Hospital, James (Jim), predeceased by his parent William and Bridget, brothers Michael, Billy and Joe, sisters Mary (Russell) and Peggy (Shanahan), sadly missed by his brother Paddy, sister-in-law Bridie, nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Jim’s family would like to thank in a special way Dr. Colm Costello, the staff at St. Luke’s Hospital and the staff of St. Mary’s Day Care Centre, especially Birdie Hayes, for the care and kindness shown to Jim.

In accordance with current Government/H.S.E. guidelines and in the interest of public health, a private funeral for family and close friends will take place for Jim, with Requiem Mass celebrated on Monday (7th June) at 11am in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Kilkenny (max of 50 in church). Interment afterwards in Foulkstown Cemetery. House private please.

Tom will be sadly missed by his wife Gretta, sons Victor, John and Mervyn, his brother Séamus, his grandchildren Aria, Lana, Sháuna and Tomás, sisters-in-law Mary, Iris and Ena: brother-in-law George; daughters-in-law Susan and Pádraigín; nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. The funeral service will be held in St. Mary’s Church, Castlecomer, on Monday 7th June at 3.30pm, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Government guidelines on public safety are still in place and to protect each other, you are asked to please adhere to these. Please note, in line with guidelines the numbers allowed in the Church are restricted.
