REST IN PEACE: Kilkenny Death Notices

Tom BROWNE
College Road, Kilkenny City

Tom Browne (College Road, Kilkenny) 10th of March 2022 (suddenly) at University Hospital Waterford. Beloved husband of Mary and much loved father of Charlie, Ria and Susie. He will be deeply missed by his wife, son, daughters, sisters Joan, Amina and Teresa, brothers Pat, Lal and Ted, daughter-in-law Claire, sons-in-law Padraig and Richard, his eleven grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Reposing at his home from 2p.m. on Sunday (March 13th) concluding with Rosary at 6p.m. Requiem Mass on Monday at 12 noon in St. Patrick’s Church, College Road followed by interment in Foulkstown Cemetery. House private to family and close friends at all other times please. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to the Irish Kidney Association.

In her 95th year, peacefully, in the loving care of her family and the staff at Castlecomer District Hospital. Predeceased by her parents Johanna and John Lyng, brothers Willie, Tommy, John, Martin, baby Patrick, sisters Bridie, Anne, Joan, nephews John and Tommy, nieces Joan and Bridie. Beloved wife of Tommy, treasured mother of Sheila, Seamie, John and Tom, and adored granny of Conor, Aoife, Roisin, Mark, Brian, Ciaran, Siobhan, Shauna, Eadaoin, and Hanna. Maureen will be sadly missed by her loving husband, daughter, sons, grandchildren, daughters-in-law Stella and Fiona, son-in-law Michael, sisters-in-law Sr. Patrick, Sr. Cecilia, Bridie, Kitty, brother-in-law Sean, nieces, nephews, grandnephews, extended family, kind neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Coady’s Funeral Home, Castlecomer on Friday (11th March) from 5pm, concluding with Rosary at 8pm & on Saturday (12th) from 3pm with Funeral Prayers at 6.15pm, followed by removal to Saint Brigid’s Church, Coon. Funeral Mass on Sunday at 1.30pm, followed by burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Moneenroe.

Family Flowers only please, with donations in lieu to Friends of Castlecomer District Hospital.

The death has taken place of Marie Dowling (Nee Dunne), Moate Park, Ballyragget, Co. Kilkenny. She died peacefully on Thursday 10th March 2022.

Predeceased by her husband Thomas, parents Edward and Kathleen Dunne.

Deeply regretted by her loving family, Daughter Therese, sons David and Tomas, grandchildren Annie and Bill, son-in-law Liam, brothers and sisters and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at her home from 4pm Saturday 12th with Family Rosary at 8pm.

Removal Sunday to St. Patricks Church Ballyragget for 10.30am Requiem Mass, followed by burial in St. Finnans Cemetry Ballyragget.

Castle Gardens, Kilkenny City/Arva, Cavan

Elliott, Mabel (nee Johnston) (Castle Gardens, Kilkenny and formerly of Arva, Co. Cavan). On Friday 11th March, Mum, moved peacefully and seamlessly from life on earth to life with her Saviour, Jesus Christ in Heaven. Dearly loved wife of the late Harry. Precious mother of Trevor and Naomi. Mother-in-law of Aileen, grandmother of Jennifer (Radek) and Tracey (Adas) and great-grandmother of Joshua, Rebeka, Elias, Izabella, Daniel and Makayla. She will be sadly missed.

A Service of Thanksgiving will take place on Monday (14th March) at 3pm in Kilkenny Presbyterian Church, New Road, Kilkenny followed by burial in St. Kieran’s Cemetery. Family flowers only.

Marcella (Stella) Townsend, née Ingram, Jerpoint, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of 9 Granby Row, Carlow March 10th 2022 in the loving care of St. Michael’s Ward, St. Columba’s Hospital, Thomastown. Beloved wife of the late Albie (died 24/02/2021). Predeceased by her parents James and Alice and by her brothers and sisters. Sadly missed by her loving nephews, nieces, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing in R. Healy & Son Funeral Home, Pollerton Castle, Carlow on Saturday from 5pm to 7pm. Removal on Sunday morning to the Church of the Holy Family, Askea, Carlow to arrive for Mass at 12noon. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow.
