‘Running with Gillian made the many miles fly by’ – tributes pour in for mother who died tragically on Comeragh Mountains

Tributes have been pouring in for the young mother whose body was discovered in the Comeragh Mountains late yesterday evening.
Gillian Ryan (37) from Horse and Jockey was found after a huge multi agency search of the Comeraghs, concentrated on the Coumshingaun Loop.
The popular mother-of-two was reported missing shortly after lunchtime on Sunday when she was not responding to phone calls.
A search headed up by the gardai and involving the South East Mountain Resuce Association (SEMRA), Rescue Helicopter 117, Search and Rescue Dog Association (Ireland), and members of the Dublin and Wicklow Mountain Search team and Kerry Mountain Rescue.
Gillian Ryan was an avid runner and a member of the Thurles Crokes Athletics team, who paid a heartfelt tribute to the young mother this morning.
“It is with absolute shock and heartbreak that we announce the untimely passing of our beautiful friend and athlete Gillian.
“So full of love and positivity. Running with Gillian made the many miles fly by in laughter and chat.
“Our love, prayers and condolences to her husband Conor, daughter Amelia and son Conor at this time.
“Ar dheis De go raibh a hanam. Xxxx,” the post concluded.
